The Players

When The Far Side Motorcycle Club (FarSide MC) arrive in India they are overwhelmed by the colours, the food, the explosion of the senses and - the noise - oh to be heard in a country of one billion people!

Successful freelancers in the film/television industry they are excited by the idea of shooting their own material. They think they know each other and are in control of their own lives, but are they really?  Intricately connected, living in one another’s pockets, this is the first time the guys are exposed on camera. They bare their arses in chicken shit and their inner thoughts are put out into the world. Definitely not powder puffs, nor do they carry their macho shields, they get emotional, they fight, they get lost, they laugh and most importantly they learn to be tolerant and evolve as human beings. All stand up guys, they are strong characters who dare to go out on a limb driving the story forward in a way that is exciting and funny, weaving a tale that is both simple and complex. In this strange, ancient land we want them to succeed, to fly with the wind and be free.

Andrew Johnson 'AJ'

Easygoing and no nonsense, AJ’s emotional layers are revealed through his photography, his love and compassion for his subject. Through the lens of his cameras, he takes us through the magical kaleidoscope which is the Indian subcontinent. Able to remain objective and present, his craft provides him with the opportunity to avoid the struggles of identity and control, which overwhelm the other guys and provides a balance in the struggle between MG and AK. However, India eventually pushes him to the limit of his beliefs, he gets sick and struggles to find equilibrium.

Anthony Kaub 'AK'

AK wears his heart on his sleeve. A very strong willed and sensitive young man, from the beginning, he begins to question his very identity and his right to take part in another country’s culture. He struggles with ritual and religion and gets extremely angry when pushed. Although he’s never ridden a motorcycle before he is totally in love with and simultaneously freaked out by his perception of being ‘Easy Rider’ in India.  A lot of things came up for AK on the journey - anger, vulnerability, spirituality & love.

Jason Fracaro 'Jay'

Ever the optimist Jay thought he had it all figured out before he arrived, but India challenges his perception and the trip becomes a humbling experience. A thinker, a wonderer and a dreamer he searches for the meaning that lies beneath the surface. India provides a magical dreamscape within which to lose himself. He hits the ground running full of passion and enthusiasm for the journey ahead, but is plagued by a bike that refuses to start. Holding the guys up, frustration leads to an accident which jolts him into a new reality. He needs to be in the now, slow down and let go before he can immerse himself in India.

Michael Glennon 'MG'

Michael is the veteran in the group. The motorcycle guru who normally travels alone. He’s been to India many times and was prepared for the craziness and the overload of everything and anything India throws at you. As the only experienced motorcycle rider, he took on the role of leader and stayed up front to navigate on the road. On the one hand, he tends to be laid back and goes with the flow supported by a hippie  sensibility and passionate love of India. On the other he has serious control issues. He feels a deep sense of responsibility for the other guys’ as they’ve never been to India before.
